I would like to thank the members of the Eastern
States Criminal Investigators Association for allowing me to be President these
past eight years. It is difficult for me to step away, however time and other
commitments has cause for me to do so. I will be turning the reins over to Vice
President Bill Swartwout who is more than capable of doing a great job. Bill
has done an outstanding job as Conference Chairman as well as serving as Vice
President.
It has been an honor and privilege serving as your
President. It was a challenge at first, but the Board was always there to
support me. This organization is terrific, as are its people that make up the
membership.
Having been a member of this organization myself since
April of 1995, I have had the opportunity to serve as Secretary, Vice president,
and as President.
I would be remiss if I did not mention the first
two people I met back in 1995 while attending my first conference in Delaware. Both
men walked up to me and greeted me making me feel welcome. They were Sam Brown
and Simon Edwards, the founders of the then Eastern Armed Robbery Conference. I
had no idea what an impact they would make on my life. I can only thank them
for their guidance, time, and effort that they gave me and this organization. I
can only say that I feel lucky and blessed to have been a part of their (our)
organization.
I won't be disappearing or riding off into the
sunset. I plan as past president to be there for the board and its new members.
