The Eastern States Criminal Investigators Association Ltd. (ESCIA) was founded in 1971 by Simon G. Edwards Sr., of the Wilmington, Delaware Bureau of Police. For many years the association was known as the Eastern Armed Robbery Conference.
The Eastern States Criminal Investigator's Association is incorporated within the State of Delaware as a non-profit, tax exempted organization.
The organization is dedicated to the exchange of intelligence information among the law enforcement and the corporate security community regarding major criminal cases. Local, state and federal law enforcement investigators and corporate security directors from across the eastern United States and Canada meet in a conference setting, to exchange information regarding unsolved and solved crimes and important trends in crime statistics. This informational exchange and educational opportunity has resulted in the closure of a significant number felony cases and has fostered improved communication among the member agencies and companies.
Membership in the E.S.C.I.A. is limited to local, state, and federal law enforcement officers, prosecutors and criminalists as well as private corporate security management. If you fit into this category, we welcome your membership.
The Eastern States Criminal Investigator Conferences are held periodically at various locations across the eastern portion of the United States, from Maine to Florida. Each conference is hosted by a police agency in the immediate conference area. Following each conference, a newsletter is prepared by the E.S.C.I.A. The newsletter contains highlights of the conference and summaries of case presentations and is now available as a feature of our website.
The Membership Directory content is restricted to our members, but any agency or company needing help with contact information or an unsolved or solved case can contact us via E-mail or by the phone numbers listed on our information page.
